How many calories are in a muffin?
The same 100 g muffin can be a light banana bake or a chocolate-and-streusel treat, depending on the flour, the sugar and the butter in the batter. Log the batter and the weight of your muffin in Calk.

Same 100 g portion, different choices: flour, oats, bran, sugar and salt, chocolate, butter and oil, frosting and sprinkles.
What makes one muffin richer than another
In these two examples, the changes are: flour, oats, bran — whole wheat flour → wheat flour, sugar and salt — a little sugar → a lot of sugar, chocolate — added: milk chocolate, butter and oil — vegetable oil → butter, frosting and sprinkles — added: streusel (sweet crumb topping).

- Same muffin, different batter: whole-wheat flour with mashed banana and a little sugar against white flour with a lot of sugar and butter. That is about 12 g of sugar in the first muffin and 38 g in the second, at the same 100 g.
- Milk chocolate pieces and a streusel crown add sugar and fat on top, right where nobody counts them.
- The banana muffin comes to about 210 kcal per 100 g, the bakery-case chocolate one to about 380.
